The client — a B2B procurement marketplace — had grown their platform organically over five years, accumulating significant technical debt. Multiple platform migrations, an unmanaged URL structure, and an unoptimised JavaScript rendering setup had resulted in a site that Google was crawling inefficiently and indexing incompletely.
Organic traffic had plateaued despite significant content investment. The content team was producing material that wasn't being discovered — not because it was poor, but because the crawl and indexation problems meant Googlebot wasn't finding it.
